About the ‘Monsters In The Mind’ Series of Books
Written by Adeline Foo, this book series, targeted at children ages 6 and above, feature
monsters’ as central characters. These monsters, however, are intangible ones derived
from shadows, sounds and imaginations in overdrive. Each story's moral, subtly
embedded, touches on positive values such as love, kindness and trust. It is hoped that
as children read on and discover that the monsters exist only in their minds, they will
banish their fear of them. Other books in this series include Monsters On The Wall,
Nu-Nu, The Ring-Necked Monster and Guai Wu, The Monster Child .
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Adeline Foo first dreamt of becoming a writer when she was a little girl. A recipient of the inaugural First Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative presented by the Media Development Authority and the National Book Development Council of Singapore in
2006, she has not stopped writing since winning the award and has eight published
children’s books. Adeline’s books have received excellent media reviews and have
made their way to Frankfurt and Melbourne. Three of her books had crossed over from
print to screen as animation shorts, one of which was screened at Cannes. The
“Monsters in the Mind” books address the child in her who never quite grew up and allow
her to be ingenious in banishing the thing under her bed!
