Inspired by The Fight Club (the movie), the site is created as a space for you to express yourself because its creators think that self-expression is important and “what you feel matters”. So instead of bashing each other with bare hands, you bloody each other with words. The site explores social issues in Singapore and features original writing in prose and poetry.

Short for Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, QLRS is the only journal devoted wholly to literary works in Singapore. The journal, the brainchild of poet Toh Hsien Min, aims "to promote the literary arts in Singapore, to stimulate the feedback mechanisms on the literary scene and to develop Singaporean writers to international standards". With regular columns on literary criticisms and the posting of original prose and poetry, this is the journal to check out often.

UrbanWire is an online entertainment/lifestyle newsmagazine produced by final-year journalism students of the School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. Over the years, they have built up a comprehensive and in-depth collection of books on this region. Its inventory consists of books on subjects such as Southeast Asian politics, history, culture architecture, literature and so on. To celebrate World Books' Day (1 April), the British Broadcasting Coporation has set up a site with bite-sized information on the history and evolution of books. The information is presented clearly in a time-line with light-hearted write-ups on how the need for books came about, the invention of paper, the history of the printing presses and libraries, and a prediction of where will it go from here. A must-see site for book-lovers.

Salon.com combines the personal with politics. Regarded as one of the most well-written and well-edited website, Salon.com has amassed a loyal following over the years. The site has regular columns on topics such as books and arts, pop culture and entertainment, and explores current issues. Particularly impressive is its coverage of books, films and politics.

Started in 1997 as a website for a language course, this site has evolved to a site dedicated to creative Asian writing. It features original poetry and prose from Asia. The editor welcomes submissions of original, creative works.

The online version of Colors is no shabby cousin of its print counterpart. Since its first issue, Colors has been noted for its unusual take on issues such as AIDS and war. To create awareness and a more realistic look for its features, teams of researchers and photographers are sent to various locations to source for material and images. With its creative use of Flash and interesting selection of images, Colors online, gives us a tease of what is available in its print counterpart.

Counterspace is a site that introduces typefaces, its history and evolution, and it dishes out this information in digestible sizes.
