Gül İnanç

Gül İnanç is a lecturer at the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, offering courses on art through history/history through art. She holds a PhD in modern history from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey, has written three books, and published various articles on West Asian diplomatic history. Her later work focuses mostly on history, intercultural and global cultural heritage, education for peace, and conflict resolution. She is the first Turkish scholar who has taught at Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Universities simultaneously. Her current projects include: creating student activity books, animated films, story books, and board games promoting global cultural heritage; deciphering the codes of contemporary Islamic art in the interfaith contexts of the 21st century; and investigating ways to offer university education to the youth of refugee camps. She has been a board member of the Center for Asian Art and Design (CAAD) since 2014. Though deeply engaged in a variety of research projects, teaching remains her foremost passion academically.
