About the Editors

Alvin Pang (1972) was named 2005 Young Artist of the Year (Literature) by the National Arts Council, Singapore. His poetry collections, Testing The Silence (1997) and City of Rain (2003) were both listed in the Straits Times’ Top Ten Books of the Year. His work has been featured in ”Atlanta Review” (USA), ”English Review” (UK), ”SALT” (Australia), ”Paper Tiger” (Australia), “Slope” (USA), ”Quarterly Literary Review Singapore”. He was editor or co-editor of the volumes: No Other City: The Ethos Anthology of Urban Poetry (2000), Love Gathers All: A Philippines-Singapore Anthology of Love Poetry (2002), Over There: Poems from Singapore and Australia (2008, in collaboration with the poet John Kinsella), all published by Ethos Books in Singapore. In 2008 his work appeared in the Norton anthology Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from the Middle East, Asia & Beyond. Pang was a founding director of The Literary Centre (Singapore) and Wordfeast 2004, Singapore’s first international poetry festival.

Tiziano Fratus (1975, Bergamo) directs the Torino Poesia Press (Edizioni Torino Poesia) and Festival; he has translated poets from the USA, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. He has published nine books of poetry, the latest being Il Molosso. Poema d’un’anima (2007),Il Vangelo della Carne (Flesh Gospel, 2008) and La staticità dei pesci martello (Static Nature of Hammerhead Sharks, 2008). His poetry has appeared in magazines, websites and anthologies, featured in national and international festivals, and translated, published or performed in Portugal, France, Holland, Germany, Poland, Slovack Rep., Switzerland, Singapore, Argentina. His poetry also appears in the anthologies Ars Poetica 2005 (Bratislava), Poeti per Torino (Viennepierre, Milan) andPoèmes chuchotés sur la berge du Pô. Six poètes de Turin Poésie (Edizioni Le Ricerche, Lugano). In 2009 new international anthologies featuring his poetry and the work of other Torino Poesia poets will appear in Scotland (5PX2. Five Italian Poets and Five Scottish Poets - Italian Institute of Culture), Canada (Poets from Turin - Guernica Editions) and Brazil (A cadeia alimentar - Sans Chepeau / Mazza Ediçoes). On December 2008 he toured the USA to present A Room in Jerusalem published by Farfalla Press / McMillan & Parrish.
