Underground and Other Stories

Synopsis

Unforeseen circumstances can have extraordinary effect on people you think you know well, including yourself. What lurks in the recesses of the mind is anyone’s guess. In Underground and Other Stories, outward appearances are scrapped away and the hidden, uncovered. From the start to the end, you are confronted with temptation, desire and choice.

Weaving in and out of characters from different strata of society, Chuang constructs a world at once familiar and absurd. Her prose is sparse and taut, her observations acute and honest. A fascinating read.
